Jake Winebaum

Jake is a healthcare entrepreneur. Prior to founding Brighter.com, Jake served as CEO and Founder of Business.com. Business.com was one of the successful companies launched by eCompanies, the privately held incubator founded by Winebaum and Sky Dayton. eCompanies launched several other successful companies, including JAMDAT Mobile, Boingo Wireless, and USBX. Prior to eCompanies, Jake served as Chairman of the Disney Internet Group overseeing Disney.com, ESPN.com, ABCNews.com, ABC.com and Family.com. Prior to Disney, Jake founded FamilyFun Magazine which was acquired by The Walt Disney Company. Jake started his career in publishing and held executive positions at U.S. News & World Report, Time and Fortune Magazines. Jake was awarded a place in the Top 50 Cyber Elite and Wired Magazine’s Wired 25, and was inducted into the Los Angeles Venture Association Hall of Fame in 2010. He currently serves on the board of Gigya and the California Governor’s Council for Physical Fitness and Sports, and is Founding Chairman of Seven Arrows Elementary School.

Jake’s specialties are in health care costs and price transparency, old and new media, start-ups, incubation, venture capital financing, exits, mentoring entrepreneurs, board of directors, online marketing. Winebaum is a Dartmouth College graduate.
